[Music] [Music] about 3 years ago in late November my husband and I had a creepy experience that still makes us uneasy at the time we were living in Seattle and often spent weekends surfing our favorite spots were Nia Bay or Westport which meant long drives but great waves on this weekend however the surf forecast wasn't good rough waves and stormy conditions along the coast we were disappointed but started looking for other options hoping to find a place that was a bit safer to Surf we decided to try some spots along the straight of Juan deuka instead the land along the straight is beautiful but very remote the only way to reach it is by driving along Highway 112 which goes from Port Angeles to Nia Bay there's almost no cell service along most of Highway 112 and there are only a few small towns along the way we decided to try surfing at a spot along the straight called twin it was a place we knew well having surfed there before for and we felt good with the area the surf report showed the best waves would come early in the morning so we figured it would be smart to drive out the night before and sleep in our car to be ready at dawn since it was late November the weather was cold and we didn't want to spend extra money on a campsite nearby instead we planed to park our car along the beach at Twin hoping for a quiet peaceful Night by the water we guessed there would be no one else there and we were right we arrived around 3:30 p. m. and the only other people parked nearby were a young couple in their camper van nothing unusual happened between when we arrived and around 7:00 p.
m. we parked then cooked some dinner and I took a short walk along the beach the only other thing that happened was just before Sunset we heard a loud whistling sound and then noticed a man walking down the entrance road towards the beach he had been walking along the highway which was odd since there's nothing nearby the highway is mostly empty with no places to stop or walk to and it's not a path people usually take my husband and I found it really strange and a bit unsettling as he walked along the beach he said hello to the young couple and they invited him to sit by their campfire for a while the last time we saw them that night was when my husband and I decided to go to sleep around 8:00 p. m.
about an hour later I woke up and opened the car door a little to get some fresh air I noticed that the young couple's camper van was gone and for some reason it made me feel bit uneasy it was strange because we had seen them just a short time earlier sitting by their campfire I couldn't really explain why I felt that way so I figured it was just because I was tired and tried to relax I lay back down but when I woke up again it was nearly 11:00 p. m. this time I sat up so quickly that I startled my husband and he woke up too he asked what was wrong and I told him nothing just that I woke up Suddenly he seemed calm and went back to sleep but I stayed awake for about 15 minutes trying to listen for any sound looking back I think my gut feeling was telling me something wasn't right since I didn't hear anything I lay back down and focused on trying to sleep about 20 minutes later I woke up again and saw that my husband was already awake he was sitting very still just listening to something outside his silence and Stillness made me feel uneasy so I turned on the car lights and asked him what was going on he whispered someone was tapping on the windows I remember feeling a deep sense of fear in that moment a few hours later when I woke up again I noticed that the young couple in the camper van was gone there's no one else camping here I said we quickly put on our shoes grabbed flashlights and pepper spray then opened the car doors everything was silent completely dark my husband walked towards the trees behind us to check while I stayed by the car shining my flashlight down onto the beach I didn't see anyone so I sat on the back bumper while he kept looking around about 2 minutes later my husband came back walking quickly we need to leave there's a car parked by the exit Road it's just sitting there with the lights off and the engine running in less than a minute we threw everything from the front seats into the back where we'd been sleeping started the car and drove back up toward the entrance road we drove out of there as fast as we could but in the rush my husband got disoriented and turned the wrong way heading down the highway toward Nia Bay as we drove the wrong way we passed the exit Road and to our horror there was the car again now with its headlights on it felt like time slowed down as we both noticed it was speeding up behind us getting closer I could feel the tension building as we realized we weren't just imagining things someone was really following us the highway was narrow with Forest on one side and the ocean on the other luckily we saw saw a small turnout ahead and then quickly turning the car left as soon as we made the sharp left turn the car following us just kept going down the highway in the same direction not slowing down we sped up going about 90 Mi per hour trying to get back to Port Angeles as fast as possible the entire drive back was tense but no one followed us the rest of the way the feeling of being watched and chased stayed with me I still feel deeply creeped out when I think about the person or people in that car and what their intentions [Music] were my brother 2 years older than me has always been my camping partner we've spent countless hours in the woods together doing everything from building Forts and BMX tracks to hunting and exploring since 2016 we've taken trips across the US exploring deep caves hiking through canyons and even climbing Cliffs whenever we get time off now I think it's really important to say this because there's nothing I wouldn't do or be scared of when he's with me but this time was different and we both sensed it we've had plenty of Adventures stories to share but this one has stayed with me like a shadow in my memory we were both in our mid 20s and it was 2019 it was probably my fifth time hunting in this area but it was the first time I brought my brother along the forest is huge with only a few rough County Roads that are mostly narrow two trck paths stretching for Miles we packed up my truck with everything we needed including three tents one for each of us to sleep in and another as a space to change clothes and store our gear the drive through the forest Trails was long with thick trees and brush on each side and the roads were rough and winding we were basically in the middle of nowhere with the nearest Main Road probably 8 to 10 mil away we arrived late at night set up camp and fell asleep after the long trip the next day day we spent time scouting and tracking then returned to camp for the night we cooked some dinner ate had a few drinks and chatted for a while it was still early but after a long day we decided to call it a night and went to sleep up to that point everything felt completely normal then suddenly I woke up to the sound of something hitting my tent followed by my brother brother calling my name I could tell right away something was wrong I called back to him and within seconds he unzipped my tent and stepped inside I could see he was really shaken when I asked him what was wrong he grabbed my shoulder and whispered sh The sun hadn't come up yet so it was probably around 4:30 or 5: in the morning we sat there in silence inside my tent trying to understand what was happening then we heard it the sound that still confuses me to this day the best way I can describe it is laughing of a woman with different tones almost like they were coming from somewhere far away the sound would come and go with only a few seconds of Silence between each one then it changed from high-pitched squeals to very low noises that seemed to shake the ground I'm sorry now that I didn't grab my phone and try to record it but at the time it didn't feel real and I was too shocked to think about it the strange sounds kept going until the first light of day started to break I think it lasted about an hour but honestly I'm not sure neither of us said a word it felt like I could almost feel the energy around me like my body was covered in static if that makes sense just minutes after the sound stopped it started to rain and then one of the craziest thunderstorms I've ever experienced while camping hit the weather forecast didn't say anything about rain for the days we'd be there before we left for the trip but when the storm hit all the stakes that held down our tent and gear were ripped out of the ground both of our tents also had multiple Stakes pulled out we had hammered those Stakes into the ground with an axe and it would have taken a huge amount of force to pull even one of them out my brother refuses to talk about it and says it was just Machinery being dragged but at the time we both felt scared and uneasy it just seemed strange that it was still the middle of the night and we were so far away from any towns or businesses yet we we heard and experienced something like [Music] that I've never had a paranormal experience before but I can't explain this one I'm in college and seven other students and I went on a backpacking trip with two experienced leaders we drove to zeleski State Forest deep in the app aan region of Ohio the trip was in early April and though spring was starting the trees and plants were still bare and lifeless from Winter we were surrounded by Hills and dense Woods after hiking several miles into the forest we set up our camp at a backpacking campsite there were a few other groups there too including some friendly older couples and two college-aged girls everyone's camps were spaced out and we set up ours farther away from the others now I've always been able to feel the energy of different places and the energy here felt weird each of us had a small oneperson tent and we set them up in a cluster close together for safety my tent was at the very back of the group so there was only open Forest behind me our camp was set up right next to the tree line as this campsite was just a big empty square cut out from the den dense Woods the trees around us were tall and dark casting Shadows over the sight making it feel even more uneasy fast forward to around 2 a.
m. I was deep asleep when I suddenly woke up to the sound of leaves crunching right behind my tent I heard footsteps walking in circles around my tent the steps sounded heavy like they couldn't be from a deer or a dog and it seemed like it was just on two legs I'm not making this up this creature walked around my tent for a long time slowly moving up to the sides of my tent then stopping for a while and after that it moved on to walk around the rest of our tents I could hear breathing like a human's whenever it got close to my tent it was soft but heavy like it was struggling to breathe I was shaking from fear and too scared to unzip my tent and look outside this went on for what felt like hours then out of nowhere I saw a light shining through the fabric of my tent it was hard to make out what it was but it looked like a shape almost glowing I couldn't see anything clearly because it was all zipped up it was a warm steady glow and it didn't move like a flashlight would I was Frozen with fear and I just couldn't believe it was an animal eventually I fell asleep from Pure exhaustion but I could still hear the heavy footsteps circling until I finally drifted off in the morning I asked the others if they had heard anything and my leader told me she also heard the footsteps and strange noises she said it was really weird and that she would have checked it out if she hadn't been so tired one of the boys in the group mentioned that he also saw the light but he thought it was someone else's light like maybe from another camper however none of us in the group went to the bathroom or turned on any lights that night now I couldn't shake the feeling that something was really off I've heard stories about the Appalachian region being weird and creepy with weird things happening and now I really believe it [Music] when I was 11 or 12 I went to summer camp for the last time and it was called Camp Catan a camp spread across about 50 acres next to a school there were wooden cabins for each year group with swimming pools Lakes hiking trails and Open Fields for sports we spent our days swimming playing games and learning new skills like canoeing and archery once or twice a year they rented a bigger place further south of Atlanta this was for the older kids where we would have a sleepover with campfires and Outdoor Adventures I had already done it the year before and had a great time with my friends we stayed up late talking and laughing sitting on the cold concrete slab by a creek the area looked out over 20 or 30 mil of old Farmland most of it covered in small trees and wild plants the camp counselors who were usually 18 to 20 years old were pretty relaxed they didn't worry much about strict rules we could sleep in and breakfast or roll call didn't happen until around noon we spent the day exploring playing games and just hanging out then around 400 p. m.
we would pack up and head back to the regular camp but this time my three friends and I made a plan to sneak out early in the morning just after Dawn before the camp counselors woke up we wanted to explore the farmlands they rarely let us play in so we had packed thick jackets and some extra food ahead of time and as soon as we woke up we grab our stuff and quietly left we reached the edge of the campground and crossed the small Creek that separated it from the Untamed farmlands the area we entered felt really old with broken fences and overgrown plants a rusty barb wire fence stretched across the hills some of the trees had grown right through it twisting around the wire we decided to follow the stream for as long as possible knowing it would help us find our way back to the camp later but after about a mile the stream dried up and the landscape looked totally different the Wild Pine trees gave way to neatly planted rows of corn and it felt like our path had vanished but with the sun rising and our excitement pushing us forward we kept walking up a small hill that had appeared ahead of us a man wearing a broad cap and overalls clearly a farmer SP spoted us as we reached the top of the hill he looked surprised but we were too far away for him to catch us or ask what we were doing so we hurried away when he called out after walking another mile through the tall corn fields the landscape changed again as if there were clear borders I remember seeing what looked like a gate made by Nature cornstalks bending into an arch beyond the arch was a small Brook surrounded by thick oak trees looking as beautiful as any picture in a book we continued on feeling sure we were moving in a straight line and could easily find our way back our watches showed that only an hour and a half had passed after that peaceful spot the land changed to a steep Rocky climb over the next mile or two it was full of sharp Thorns winding paths and no clear way forward after discussing whether to turn back and getting scratched by bushes we finally reached a huge Valley it was strange to see unusual trees growing there lined up in a way that seemed unnatural leading us further down the trees had long thin branches and their bark had flaked off and settled on the ground below revealing a smooth pasty White surface underneath the most striking thing about the trees was their blood red leaves there was no grass in the valley but lots of moss and the air smelled damp we followed the line of trees deep into the valley losing track of time as we went near the very bottom of the valley surrounded by those trees and nothing else we found a three-story Victorian style house but just as we spotted the house it began to rain rain heavily turning the valley into a muddy mess even from far away the house looked old and worn sagging from years of rain and Decay it was made entirely of wood with only a few single pan glass windows that were still unbroken the only part of the house that wasn't wood was the support for the stairs leading inside the door was open we felt foolish for going inside but wet fools prefer a potentially dry place we thought we would turn back once we got our bearings and return to Camp without anyone knowing as the leader of our group I stepped inside the house first I placed my foot on the first step which felt Hollow and weak but still held my weight the entrance was about 8 ft long and 6 ft wide with a long staircase leading up to the second and third floors behind us we could see clear holes in the second floor that led to dark areas but the stairwell was lit by the large windows at the front of the house the sound of water was loud and clear but the entryway with the open door was dry beyond the lit area by the open door the house was dark and smelled of mold and dampness we took a moment to rest while I set down my pack and pulled out my compass I was checking our snacks when I heard it a moan that sounded like the wind and rain coming from somewhere at the top of the house if it still had one then I heard the loudest footsteps I have ever heard thundering down the stairs my friends ran the moment they heard the sound I hesitated for a moment it was bright enough to see about 2/3 of the way up the stairs but there was nothing there I grabbed my bag and jumped out the door slamming it shut behind behind me the wet wood felt soft in my fingers like wet paper instead of old wood when I took the last step it broke under me sending splinters everywhere I ran up the hill after my friends getting cuts and scrapes from the rain as I ran I heard the loud sound of the door being kicked open behind me and it felt like it shook the whole valley I don't even remember the trip back except that we made it to Camp around 2:00 p. m.
