[Music] living in remote Alaska is both beautiful and terrifying in the summer the long days and endless Skies make you feel alive but in Winter the darkness and silence are overwhelming it is during these long cold months that I feel most alone the snow covered woods and Tundra stretch out forever blanketing the world in a white Stillness the only sound is the crunch of my boots on the snow or the creek of the the ice underfoot often it feels like the silence is pressing in on me a tangible force that makes my heart race and
my breath Quicken it's not the Predators Bears wolves or even the occasional wandering moose that scares me it's the desolate emptiness I live in a small cabin miles away from the nearest town it is a simple place with just enough to keep me warm and fed through the harsh winter one night the silence felt different it was heavier more oppressive I sat by the fire trying to read but but I couldn't concentrate I kept glancing at the windows half expecting to see something staring back at me but there was nothing just darkness I decided to
go to bed early hoping sleep would come quickly but as I lay there wrapped in layers of blankets I couldn't shake the feeling that I was being watched I told myself it was just my imagination the isolation playing tricks on me but the feeling persisted the next morning I found tracks in the snow around my cabin they weren't animal tracks at least not any animal I was familiar with they were large Almost Human but with a strange loping gate they circled the cabin coming close to the windows before disappearing into the woods I tried to
tell myself it was nothing maybe a hunter or a Trapper passing through but deep down I knew that wasn't right the tracks were too strange and no one would be out here in this weather without making themselves known for the next few days I couldn't shake the feeling of being watched I went about my chores but I was always looking over my shoulder expecting to see something or someone lurking in the shadows The Silence of the woods seemed more oppressive The Emptiness more suffocating one evening as the sun was setting I decided to follow the
tracks I bundled up in my warmest clothes grabbed my rifle and set out the tracks were faint now covered by a light dusting of snow but they were still visible they led me deeper into the woods away from the safety of my cabin as I walked the silence grew even more intense my heartbeat and breath were deafening in the absence of any other sound I tried to stay calm but fear was gnawing at the edges of my mind what if I got lost what if I didn't make it back before dark the tracks led me
to a small clearing where they abruptly stopped there was no sign of what had made them no indication of where they had gone it was as if they had simply vanished I stood there my breath forming clouds in the freezing air feeling more alone than ever as I turned to to head back I saw it just at the edge of the clearing half hidden in the shadows was a figure it was tall and thin with long bony limbs its eyes were Dark Hollow pits and its mouth was a twisted toothless grin it was watching me
I froze my heart pounding in my chest the figure didn't move just stood there staring I slowly raised my rifle my hands shaking but as I did the figure melted back into the Shadows disappearing as quickly as it had appeared I ran back to the cabin not caring about about the noise I made or the tracks I left behind the silence was no longer empty it was filled with the echo of my fear I bolted the door behind me and sat by the fire clutching my rifle waiting for the dawn the next day the tracks
were gone covered by a fresh layer of snow the figure never appeared again but the fear remained The Silence of the Alaskan winter once a companion had become a constant reminder of my vulnerability the desolate emptiness once a source of Solace was now a haunting presence that made me question my sanity before we get into the next story if you come for the first time please make sure to subscribe to our Channel and press the Bell icon for upcoming scary stories we need your support please share these stories with your friends and family thanks I
had been planning this solo camping trip for months the thought of being alone in the wilderness away from the noise and hustle of everyday life was comforting I packed my SUV with all the essentials a tent sleeping bag food water and of course a couple of bottles of wine as I drove deep into the forest I felt a sense of Peace wash over me the trees were tall and thick and the air was fresh and crisp I found a perfect spot by a small clearing with a view of the Starry Sky setting up camp was
easy I pitched my tent laid out my sleeping bag and gathered some firewood as the sun began to set I lit a small fire and opened a bottle of wine the crackling fire and the gentle rustling of the leaves were the only sounds I felt completely at ease I sipped my wine and watched the stars come out one by one the sky was clear and the stars were bright it was a perfect night I must have fallen asleep under the stars because I woke up Suddenly it was still dark but something had changed the fire
had burned down to Embers and the air felt colder then I heard it a distant chanting it was soft sof at first almost like a whisper but it grew louder and more distinct my heart started to race I sat up and listened carefully the chanting seemed to be coming from deep in the forest far away but approaching I tried to calm myself down maybe it was just my imagination or the wind playing tricks on me but the chanting continued growing louder and more rhythmic it sounded Eerie like a ritual of some sort I quickly crawled
into my tent and grabbed my knife I kept it close lying down with my heart pounding in my chest I tried to convince myself that I was safe that no one could find me out here but the chanting wouldn't stop and I felt a deep sense of unease eventually exhaustion took over and I fell into a Restless sleep when I woke up it was morning the Sun was shining and everything looked normal again I felt silly for being so scared the night before I packed up my things and decided to have breakfast as I was
getting ready to leave I heard a knock on my SUV it was a soft knock almost hesitant my heart skipped a beat I turned slowly and saw a figure standing by the driver's side door the figure was tall and thin dressed in dark clothes their face was hidden in the shadow of a hood I felt a surge of fear and screamed the figure didn't move for a moment then suddenly turned and ran into the forest my scream echoed through the trees and the forest fell silent again I stood there Frozen my mind racing who was
that how did they find me why were they here I quickly packed up the rest of my gear and got into the SUV my hands were shaking as I started the engine I drove for a while trying to put as much distance between me and that figure as possible hours later I found a new spot to set up camp it was far from where I had seen the figure but I couldn't shake the feeling of being watched that night I didn't light a fire I didn't drink any wine I sat in my tent clutching my
knife and listening to every sound the forest was alive with noises rustling leaves snapping Twigs distant animal calls every sound made me jump I barely slept my mind replaying the events of the day over and over who was that person how did they get so close without me noticing and what was that chanting the next morning I decided to leave the forest the peace and Solitude I had sought were gone replaced by a constant sense of fear as I packed up my tent for the last time I noticed something on the ground near my campfire
Footprints they were large and deep leading from the forest to where I had been sleeping my heart raced as I realized the figure had been closer than I thought I drove back to civilization my mind swirling with questions and fear I couldn't explain what had happened but I knew I wouldn't be returning to that Forest anytime soon the memory of the chanting the lurking figure and the footprints would haunt me for a long time the Wilderness once a place of peace and Solitude had become a place of mystery and fear it was late November when
I decided to head out into the Alaskan Wilderness I had always been drawn to the Solitude and beauty of the snowy landscape this time I plan to spend a week alone in a remote cabin far from civilization the thought of being alone surrounded by the vast Frozen Wilderness excited me I set off early in the morning my backpack filled with supplies the air was crisp and my breath formed clouds in the cold air the snow crunched under my boots as I made my way through the forest the cabin was about a day's hike from the
nearest town and I had mapped out my route carefully as the day went on the sky grew darker and the temperature dropped the forest was eerily quiet with only the sound of my footsteps and the occasional rustle of branches I finally reached the cabin just as the sun was setting it was a small wooden structure half buried in snow I pushed the door open and stepped inside the cabin was cold and dark I quickly lit a fire on the small stove and unpacked my supplies the flickering light from the fire cast Shadows on the walls
and the warmth slowly began to seep into the room I felt a sense of Peace as I sat by the fire listening to the crackling of the wood that first night I slept soundly The Silence of the Wilderness wrapping around me like a blanket the next morning I woke up early and decided to explore the area around the cabin I put on my heavy coat and gloves and stepped outside the landscape was breathtaking the snow covered trees sparkled in the sunlight and the air was so clear it felt like I Could See For Miles I
spent the day wandering through the forest enjoying the Solitude and Beauty as the sun began to set I headed back to the cabin as I walked I noticed something strange the forest seemed different almost like it was watching me I shook off the feeling and continued on my way when I reached the cabin I felt a sense of relief I quickly went inside and lit the fire that night night I couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong the silence felt oppressive and I found myself straining to hear any sound the Shadows cast by the
fire seemed to move and I felt a chill that had nothing to do with the cold I told myself it was just my imagination and tried to sleep the next morning I woke up feeling uneasy I decided to stay close to the cabin and spent the day chopping wood and Gathering supplies as the day went on the feeling of being watched grew stronger I kept looking over my shoulder but there was nothing there as night fell the feeling of dread intensified I sat by the fire trying to read a book but I couldn't concentrate every
Creek of the cabin every gust of wind made me jump I felt like I was being watched but I couldn't see anything I decided to go to bed early hoping that sleep would take away the fear as I lay in bed I heard a faint sound almost like a whisper I strained to listen but the sound faded away I told myself it was just the wind and tried to sleep in the middle of the night I woke up to a strange sound it was a low rhythmic thumping coming from outside the cabin I lay in
bed Frozen with fear listening to the sound it grew louder and closer and I felt my heart pounding in my chest I got out of bed and slowly made my way to the window I pulled back the curtain and looked outside in the Moonlight I could see a figure standing in the snow just at the edge of the forest it was tall and thin and it seemed to be staring directly at me I stepped back from the window my heart racing I didn't know what to do the figure didn't move it just stood there watching
I felt a wave of fear wash over me I quickly grabbed my flashlight and Shone it out the window the figure was gone I stood there shaking trying to calm myself I told myself it was just my imagination that there was nothing out there but deep down I knew something was wrong I felt a sense of dread that I couldn't shake the next day I decided to leave the cabin I packed my things and set off early in the morning as I walked through the forest I couldn't shake the feeling of being watched every sound
every shadow made me jump I walked quickly my heart pounding until I finally reached the town I felt a sense of relief as I saw the lights of the houses I knew I was safe I never went back to that cabin The Experience left me with a deep sense of fear the Wilderness once a place of beauty and Solitude now felt like a place of danger and Dread
