Welcome to our Channel in this video we are going to talk about English parts of speech in English there are nine parts of speech these are noun verb adjective determiner adverb pronoun preposition conjunction and interjection we are going to start with noun noun is a name of a person for example Hazel Jaime Violet and name of a thing like computer car glasses and a name of a place for example Istanbul Amsterdam Boston or name of an idea such as health Freedom energy noun answers the questions what or who is it or what is its name
let's find out nouns in some example sentences Haruki murakami is my favorite writer the nouns are Haruki murakami and writer that is my cat cat is the noun here Chicago is a big city Chicago and City are nouns we need peace peace is the noun here the second part of speech is verb verb describes actions like eat jump walk and describe States such as have be verb like am is R was were let's find out verbs in these sentences she runs every morning here run is the verb I like fruit and vegetables like is the
verb they have a big car have is the verb here the dogs are hungry R is the verb the third part of speech is adjectives they describe something or someone they tell more about the nouns like small cold beautiful or cheap here are some example adjectives in sentences I have an old laptop old is the adjective her new school is huge new and huge are adjectives here his jacket is shiny shiny is the adjective here the movie is hilarious the adjective is hilarious the fourth one is determiner determiners modify describe or introduce nouns some determiners
are a and the or they can be a number like three or five let's look at some examples in the sentences the child wants a candy a is a determiner I have an idea N is a determiner she plays the piano here the is a determiner they live in three different cities three is a determiner in this sentence the fifth part of speech is adverb adverbs modify and limit verbs adjectives or another adverbs they answer the questions like when tomorrow where here how slowly to what extent for four days or how often sometimes here are
