How To Write a $1,000,000 VSL (Video Sales Letter) in 9 Simple Steps

formula to pull it off that's what I'm going to reveal today my original old school BSL formula that I've used to write more Million dooll vssl winners than anyone else on the planet and since I attention modalities giving someone both audio and video is a great way to do that the fourth reason they work so well is that you can tell stories that Captivate the reader vsls are perfect for stories because they almost create like a bedtime story effect like you're being read to takes you back to when you were younger and feel safe perfect state to persuade by the way so do use this story problem solution offer testimonials price guarantee close what is it okay your lead is a blind introduction that hammers home the pain points of your prospect and you're speaking directly as if you're talking to one person this in my opinion is the most important part of a vsl if you miss the lead the rest of the vsl will fail and this also illustrates benefits of there about to enjoy usually framed inside the context of watching the video itself I want you to remember this the video is the benefit it's the benefit provider you really do need to deliver benefits give someone a really good reason to watch that's super important you want them to walking away way more informed a little incomplete without your help without your offer helping them really complete the deal but well informed that's the secret to the lead we'll look at it here in a minute your story is pretty much what it sounds like it's often nightmare story a negative story something that drove you to succeed like a low point in your life and this really does need to be personal now if you don't want to use one of yourself use one of a client but it's crucial that you need to know how to write a story that your audience your ideal buyers will resonate with I'm going to show you how we do that in just a moment the problem is the number one problem that your prospect is facing related to this Niche and it's often centered around what's called a negative hook that's a catchy phrase that summarizes the problem into one simple thing that people can wrap their heads around I mean if I say hey there's 37 problems that you have with weight loss you're never going to wrap your head around it but what here's an example BioTrust a supplement company that I wrote a letter for I used a negative hook called letin resistance and it caught on so well it's actually in medical journals now but that one thing became the reason that people are can't lose weight they're craving Foods at night they're eating more during the day it's all due to this one thing called leptin resistance and if you fix it you can fix everything now obviously weight loss is more complex than that but we just made it super simple all the dominoes started falling in place once you address leptin sensitivity they had a supplement that did just that presso change you can imagine it's sold very well now your solution is the opposite of your problem it's a positive hook or a unique mechanism often times I'm going to tease the positive hook in the lead itself but you don't know what it is it just sounds really cool and it creates an open loop again to create a tension to drive you on throughout the vssl and it's going to help your reader understand what the problem is wrapped around the solution that's super important we'll talk about it more in a moment now your offer is the introduction of whatever you're selling now notice we didn't even mention that anything is for sale until now we don't want to we want this to be educational without giving away too much without over teing still educational so people are watching they're more engaged now I'm going to show you the stages of introducing an offer here in a moment there's two or three stages that I use because it's very important to get the solution and the hooks right and really this is super vital if you miss this you're going to miss the whole thing it's super important but one thing I keep focusing on is this one thing the one idea the one big idea the one problem the one solution if you just do that you're already way ahead of the crap okay testimonials pretty much what it sounds like people telling you good stuff about your offer but you can also create vsl testimonials meaning they get people to comment just on the video itself and you can put those at the very start so they're not even mentioning the product they're not mentioning anything they're saying hey this video saved my marriage or hey I finally lost weight after watching this video so people will watch your vsl even more really great ninja trick take it use it obviously you want videos about your testimonial about your your offer rather and you want to put that here case studies are great too your price is the section where you're going to illustrate the value of your offer not just not just tell them how much it cost we're going to do what's called a price dropdown and then we're going to Anchor higher cost services and price and Alternatives that don't work as well to your lower price so when you reveal it comes across as a bargain your guarantee is simply any money back results based guarantee that is related to your offer it's just important that you word this in a positive rather than a negative way a lot of copywriters mess this up they get down to the bottom and they go hey and if all this doesn't work I'll give you your money back but that's negative you need to phrase it like you're going to see X you're going to experience Y and if you're not Beyond thrill olded it's not going to cost you a penny you see all that's way more powerful and finally your Clos is where you seal the deal there are anything to pull a story from you would it would ask you hey tell me about the worst day of your life when it when it's related to that you would just type in okay I was not sleeping well and I you know my uh in this case my girlfriend broke up with me or something like that right so it could be anything so now he's going to a doctor looks like you have a severe magnesium deficiency I was toally Lear with this is is part of aging so notice that this relating to the audience Benson knows the Avatar is over 35 usually part of aging you know what I'm saying so all the way down here this story is completely intertwined now with the big idea with the idea of magnesium deficiency done save next section now remember what we talked about the problem the problem is the negative hook in their case don't know if he has one or not but this case he uses a doctor and I with that I made up called Alvin vinon remember making this up for for Barton in one of the demos I did for him so I just made up because it's my last name so I said who's your inspiration who's the guy he goes what's the guy's name I said well let's just make up the name for now and that's what it came up to be okay so this is asking for who inspired you to do the work this is super important I didn't talk about this in the other part of the video but you want to shift some of the responsibility on to somebody else in a good way in other words you want you don't want to say I'm the hero you want to say look I'm just an average guy maybe I'm an expert in this area now but I used to be an average guy and I got inspired through this really awesome hero called in this case Alvin Benson okay great last name by the way don't you think so I think so he's probably really good looking too um but look at his research shows
