Shalom and welcome back to 'Israel with Aline! ' I am today in the Judean Desert, beside the Dead Sea because we are going to see together today a Bible prophecy being fulfilled today; we are going to see rivers coming into the desert the desert blooming and bearing fruit, and most amazing of all: fish in the Dead Sea region! So if you're ready, let's get started!
We are in one of the most extreme places in the world, look here the ground is full of salt rocks. The region here has a lot of salt, rocks, and mud. In the summer here the temperatures can reach up to 122 degrees!
And because of this, because it is such an extreme environment, there has been no life here for a very long time. And looking at such a desolate place, it is hard to imagine how this place was before, the Bible tells us that until the time of Lot this was a green region like the Garden of Eden: Lot looked around and saw that the whole plain of the Jordan toward Zoar was well watered like the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt. (This was before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.
) Genesis 13:10 And a place that was so green will become completely desolate when God destroys the cities here in the region, among them Sodom and Gomorrah. We even went inside Sodom a few weeks ago on the channel with the help of Shlomi who is back here today. Shlomi Lobaton, shalom!
[Shlomi] Shalom! Guys, say shalom to Shlomi! [Shlomi] Shalom, shalom!
Thank you so much for being here today! [Shlomi] I am very excited to be back here receiving your care and trust. Today we will visit the Dead Sea, connecting our past, the present and the future.
And seeing the beginning of the fulfillment of the prophecies about our future. Guys the prophecies have begun to be fulfilled here at the Dead Sea, but they are very difficult to access so Shlomi who travels here in the region and knows the region thoroughly is going to take us and I'm going to see with my own eyes for the first time, part of this prophecy today, the fish in the Dead Sea region, I've personally never seen! So I too am thrilled to be here today, but without further ado so let's get started folks!
[Shlomi] Come on! Ezekiel lived in this region 2600 years ago and what he saw is this: salt, mud, destruction, heat and yet he goes and makes a prophecy that one day this place will be green again and full of life. Looking at it here it is impossible to believe this prophecy, or almost impossible.
Really looking at this desolate place and imagining here fishermen, fruit, and a place full of life is very difficult, let's now listen to the prophecy from beginning to end and then we will see each little part of it happening or starting to happen today. He said to me, "This water flows toward the eastern region and goes down into the Arabah where it enters the Dead Sea. When it empties into the sea, the salty water there becomes fresh.
Swarms of living creatures will live wherever the river flows. There will be large numbers of fish, because this water flows there and makes the salt water fresh; so where the river flows everything will live. Fishermen will stand along the shore from En Gedi to En Eglaim there will be places for spreading nets.
The fish will be of many kinds - like the fish of the Mediterranean Sea. But the swamps and marshes will not become fresh; they will be left for salt. Fruit trees of all kinds will grow on both banks of the river.
Their leaves will not wither, nor will their fruit fail. Every month they will bear fruit, because the water from the sanctuary flows to them. Their fruit will serve for food and their leaves for healing.
" EzeKiel 47:12 The prophecy talks about a river coming from Jerusalem, from the Temple of Jerusalem and entering the Dead Sea and turning its waters into healthy and sweet, it talks about that here there will be many fish and fishermen and also fruit trees, but that the mud will remain here. And a very important part of Ezekiel's prophecy is that here in the region of the Dead Sea around these rivers there will be fruit trees but it sounded a little impossible, this land is salty, here it reaches almost 122 degrees in the summer and in spite of all this, look what is here around me: the prophecy also in this part began to be fulfilled and here we are seeing plantations, in this case a date plantation, look here! This one looks so ripe Guys, it's so sweet, I'm going to get some for you to taste too.
But there is a part of this prophecy that is a little strange, it means that "the fruit will never perish", but I see here part of the dates that have fallen to the ground. Here in this region archeological excavations have been done and millennial date seeds were found and they were planted and they started to blossom, we can see this part of the prophecy until today. So if you want Shlomi to take me to the far south of Israel so we can see this part of the prophecy also being fulfilled, I mean, another prophecy being fulfilled today, please like this video and if it reaches one hundred thousand likes again, we will make the whole trip and cross to the south of Israel, but I will take this date with me to eat on the way, because we have a lot of things and a lot of prophecy to talk about today.
A very important part related to the fulfillment of this Bible prophecy are the Bolaines, which are these gigantic craters. Shlomi tells us how these bolaines came about? [Shlomi] The bolaines started to appear because the Dead Sea started to dry up and the level started to drop, from 1980 on the bolaines started to appear, with fresh water coming from the Jerusalem area, rainwater from Jerusalem goes underground, into the aquifers and flows towards the east until it reaches the Dead Sea.
This water dissolves the earth and salt that has been here for thousands of years, creating voids. The underground space collapses and the earth that was on top of it falls away until it creates a crater. The crater fills with water and this water is saturated with salt from the old layers that have been dissolved.
This is why we can see that the fresh water of this bolaine is full of salt. This phenomenon started only in 1980, and slowly many bolaines filled with water and different minerals were created here. Look how incredible!
This is a new phenomenon, I mean, from 1980 you said? And how many Bolaines have appeared in that time? [Shlomi] Today there are more than 9,000 bolaines and 2 new ones open every day.
I mean, two bolaines a day is an extremely new phenomenon! And the Dead Sea, which is here on our side and is divided between Israel and Jordan and how many Bolaines are there in Jordan? [Shlomi] very few.
In other words, we are seeing that this very different phenomenon is only happening on the Israeli side and not on the Jordanian side. And how do they have control over how many bolaines they have, how do they open, how do they have this control? [Shlomi] In practice the control is done by satellites, which photograph and analyze the land twice a week and tell us when the land begins to sink.
Even if it's only a millimeter, we get a color warning on the map so I can know where it is more or less dangerous and where we can walk. And today we will only walk in very safe places. The map is always updated and we receive information in real time.
Guys, this is why I am with Shlomi here today, this is a very dangerous area for people who don't know because we are literally walking, and literally craters are forming, so here if people walk and they don't know the area and they literally can open a crater, I mean, the ground is already giving way and when they walk with the weight of it they open the crater, so it is very important that you are here with someone who knows the area. And is this bolaine here freshwater or saltwater? [Shlomi] Of salt water, we can even see the salt.
And now let's see if there really is fresh water here and Ezekiel's prophecy. Guys we started today's walk at 6 o'clock in the morning and Shlomi told us to do it because it wouldn't be so hot, but now with every minute that passes I can feel the temperature rising it's the height of summer, it's really hard to be here but I'm sure it will be worth it. Look what we are seeing back here, a river of fresh water flowing from the Jerusalem mountains towards the Dead Sea, just like in this Ezekiel passage: The man brought me back to the entrance to the temple, and I saw water coming out from under the threshold of the temple toward the east.
The water was coming down from under the south side of the temple, south of the altar. He said to me, "This water flows toward the eastern region where it enters the Dead Sea When it empties into the sea, the salty water there becomes fresh. " Ezekiel 47:1 and 8 And now we are going to cross this river to the other side and we are going to do it thanks to the help of Shlomi who brought a movable bridge so we are going to go over there which is the narrowest part of the river and we are going to cross it because we still have so much to see together today!
[Shlomi] Come and see this wonder! Fresh water, living water in the Dead Sea! See how beautiful it is!
See how wonderful it is! It's a miracle! It is not a natural phenomenon, it is something difficult to understand.
There are animals, birds and fish here. I will show live fish swimming in this balline, proving the prophecy. This is exactly what Ezekiel prophesied about: that there would be shallow water and that after crossing it we would reach waters where we could swim.
(Ezekiel 47:3-5) We will swim into the bolaine to reach the fish. We need to swim to see prophecy come true. The prophecy is being fulfilled in front of our eyes!
Thank you God! Thank You! Guys, I am thrilled to be here and I don't know how I am going to do this adventure again we are going to go down all this now and get into the water because the only way to show the fish is to actually go in.
So we are going to do the whole descent, get into the water and then finally we will be able to show you the fish from the Dead Sea, and also to refresh a little bit because today is a very hot day. So I don't even know exactly how to get down, but let's go! Look here guys, look at all the different formations here!
And now everybody, I have already changed clothes and I have my mini camera here already turned on. Guys, it's mud but this is part of the prophecy, the prophecy says that the mud will continue I mean, there will be life, but mud. But at least the water is cool, come Shlomi, you can come with me!
Guys, there's hot water here! You feel cold water and warm water here but I'm going to swim to the other side now to see the little fishes, come on! Wow, can you see the fish?
That's amazing! That's amazing! Comment here if you can see the fish.
I know they are small but it is unbelievable to see fish here in the Dead Sea region! Guys, there are more fish down there, let's go down there and film them! You can feel them touching the tip of your foot.
And besides fish we also see aquatic plants here, which means this place is full of life! Look, guys, at the algae that Shlomi is pulling out of here. Let's keep the camera still and try to film them more closely.
All right guys, it's time to get out of the water and get to the end of our adventure. [Shlomi] I want to show all these animal footprints. All these are footprints and these are boars.
Here there are many, many wild boars. We can see life here, life in the Dead Sea, fresh water running from Jerusalem to here. Living water flowing, Fulfilling the prophecy.
I want to show you now a mini fresh waterfall at the Dead Sea See the beauty of creation, see the beauty of God! The beauty that Ezekiel prophesied thousands of years ago, and that is now being fulfilled in front of our eyes! Our generation can still see this prophecy being fulfilled.
