Surrender Your Fears to God | A Night Prayer for Comfort and Peace

as the day draws to a close and the world around us settles into the quiet of night we often find that the worries and concerns of Life have a way of creeping into our hearts whether it's the stress of responsibilities uncertainty about the future or fear of the unknown these troubles can make it difficult for us to experience the peace and rest that God desires for us yet in the midst of all these worries Jesus's words in John 14:1 bring us a powerful reminder do not let your hearts be troubled you believe in God believe

also in me these words were spoken by Jesus to his disciples as he was preparing them for a difficult and uncertain future he knew they were facing fears and doubts just as we sometimes do and yet his command was Clearo not let your hearts be troubled why because we have a God who is bigger than our worries stronger than our fears and more than able to carry us through every storm Philippians 4:6-7 Echoes the this invitation to let go of our anxieties and to rest in God's peace do not be anxious about anything but in

every situation by prayer and petition with Thanksgiving present your requests to God and the peace of God which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus this is not just a suggestion it's a promise when we bring our cares to God when we lay our burdens At His Feet his peace his Supernatural unexplainable peace will guard our hearts and Minds it will protect us from the worries that try to steal our joy and keep us from resting in his love tonight as we come before God In Prayer let us remember

this truth we are not meant to carry our burdens alone we have a loving father who invites us to cast our cares on him to trust in his goodness and to rest in his promises let us lay down every worry every fear and every concern and let us find peace in the presence of the one who holds our hearts and our futures in his hands heavenly father as the day comes to an end and I prepare to lay my head down to rest I come before you with a heart that is longing for your peace

I thank you for the gift of this day for every blessing you have given me and for every challenge that has helped me grow I thank you for your presence for your protection and for the love that surrounds me even when I am not aware of it tonight Lord I come to you with all the worries fears and burdens that have been weighing on my heart and I ask that you help me to release them into your hands I ask that you help me to not let my heart be troubled your word in John 14:1

reminds Meo not let your hearts be troubled you believe in God believe also in me I hold on to these words tonight Lord I choose to believe in you to trust in your goodness your faithfulness and your promises I choose to lay down every worry every fear fear and every concern at your feet knowing that you are more than able to handle everything that is on my mind when I am tempted to hold on to my worries remind me that you are the one who carries my burdens that you are the one who holds my

future and that you are the one who is working all things together for my good father I also want to lift up the specific worries that are on my heart tonight there are things that I have been carrying concerns about my family fears about the future uncertainties about decisions I need to make I bring each of these before you tonight Lord and I ask that you help me to let go your word in 1 Peter 5:7 tells me cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you I cast my anxieties on you tonight

Lord I ask that you take every worry every fear and every burden and replace them with your peace let me rest in the knowledge that you care for me that you see every detail of my life and that you are working behind the scenes even when I cannot see it Lord I also ask that you help me to trust in your timing there are times when I become anxious because I don't see answers to my prayers right away or because things are not happening as quickly as I would like but I know that your timing

is perfect that you see the bigger picture and that you are never late Ecclesiastes 3:11 tells me he has made everything beautiful in its time help me to trust in your timing Lord when I feel impatient remind me that you are not only working in my circumstances but you are also working in me shaping me molding me and preparing me for what lies ahead let me rest in the assurance that you are in control and that you are making everything beautiful in its time father I also ask that you help me to release the need

to control every situation there are moments when I try to take matters into my own hands when I feel like I need to have everything figured out but I know that true peace comes not from having control but from surrendering control to you Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds me trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding in all your ways submit to him and he will make your path straight help me to trust in you with all my heart Lord let me not lean on my own understanding but let me

submit every worry every plan and every decision to you I ask that you make my path straight that you guide my steps and that you lead me according to your perfect will when I feel the need to control remind me that you are the one who is holding everything together and that I can rest in the knowledge that you are working for my good Lord I also want to lift up the fears that have been troubling my heart there are moments when fear takes hold fear of the unknown fear of failure fear of what lies

ahead but I know that fear is not not from you two Timothy 1:7 tells me for God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power and of love and of a sound mind I ask that you break the chains of fear in my life Lord replace them with a spirit of power of love and of a sound mind when fear tries to whisper lies to me remind me of your truth when worry threatens to steal my peace fill me with your presence let me stand firm in the knowledge that you are with

me that you are for me and that I have nothing to fear because you are my protector and my guide father I also want to lift up my thoughts to you tonight there are times when my mind is filled with anxious thoughts when I replay the events of the day when I worry about what tomorrow may bring or when I feel overwhelmed by everything I need to do but I know that you call me to bring every thought into captivity to The Obedience of Christ to Corinthians 10:5 reminds me we demolish arguments and every pretension

that sets itself up against the knowledge of God and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ help me to take every thought captive tonight Lord let my mind be filled with thoughts that honor you and let me release any thoughts that cause anxiety or fear let me rest in the knowledge that you are my protector my provider and my peace when my thoughts begin to spiral help me to turn my focus back to you to meditate on your word and to let your Your Truth guide my heart and mind Lord I

also want to lift up my emotions to you tonight there are times when I feel overwhelmed when anxiety worry or sadness take hold of my heart but I know that you are my comforter my refuge and my strength Psalm 46 1 tells me God is our refuge and strength an everpresent help in trouble I ask that you be my refuge tonight Lord let me find rest in your presence and let me experience the peace that comes from knowing that you are with me when my emotions feel overwhelming remind me that I can come to you

with every feeling every worry and every fear Let Your Presence be a calming force in my life bringing peace to every part of my being father I also want to lift up my physical body to you tonight there are times when the stress and worries of Life take a toll on my body when I feel tired drained or unwell but I know that you are my my healer and you desire for me to be whole and well Isaiah 53:5 reminds me but he was pierced for our transgressions he was crushed for our iniquities the punishment

that brought us peace was on him and by his wounds we are healed I ask for your healing touch tonight Lord restore my body renew my strength and let me experience the fullness of Health that you have promised when I feel weak remind me that you are my strength strength and when I feel weary fill me with the energy and vitality that come from your spirit Lord I also want to lift up my loved ones to you tonight there are times when I worry about those I care about about their safety their health or their

future but I know that you love them even more than I do and that you are watching over them with a love that is beyond my understanding Psalm 121: 3:4 reminds me he will not let your foot slip He Who Watches Over you will not Slumber indeed He Who Watches Over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep I thank you that you are watching over my loved ones tonight Lord I ask that you surround them with your protection that you fill them with your peace and that you guide them in every step they take when I

am tempted to worry about them remind me that you are in control and that I can trust you with their lives father as I close this prayer I want to thank you once again for the gift of your peace your presence and your love I thank you that I do not have to carry my burdens alone and that I can find rest in the knowledge that you are with me help me to trust in you more deeply to surrender my worries more fully and to experience the fullness of your peace let my heart be at
