Man, it makes a lot of noise. Sometimes, at night we can hear loud booms when it's about to stop or to start spinning. Some nights, I can sleep well.
It's been over a month I can't sleep well now. My wife became depressed. It comes and goes, she's taking medicine, and it's a bit more controlled now.
There are nights I can't sleep at all, and I think it's because of the eolian towers. WHO DOES THE WIND BLOW TO? GIVE US BACK WHAT YOU TOOK AWAY FROM US My wife is going through a very hard moment, she is depressed, is anxious, she has insomnia, nervousness, a lot of things.
And now, the worst thing was that she made up her mind to leave the ranch because she can no longer stand the noise from the air-generators. I am looking for a house in the town so we leave the ranch I built with so much love and care, the way I like it. And now, I am forced to leave it and bring her to the town.
You don't even notice that, but those who live under the constant movement of the eolian blades, that noise causes depression, anxiety. It causes deafness, and a series of difficulties. The impacts on people's health are already proven.
They are visible, right? And moreover, create ways, these economical groups have fantastic profits on top of that, so they should compensate the population, the communities, by building schools, promoting studies about these impacts, scientific studies that go a bit deeper on this. This playground was built by "Casa dos Ventos" that was the first big enterprise to be here.
We thought this a mistake, in fact, because the community itself is like 4, 5, 6 km away from here, even farther. And it's obvious that those mothers won't let their children walk 4, 5, 6 km to come here to play. Then, the company claims they've invested in social programs.
How come investments in social programs like this? The best jobs are taken by outside people who have experience and qualification. The energy doesn't remain in the municipality.
The impacts do happen, and the environmental compensations in Galinhos have never happened, so far. There have been some hearings, with the impacted farmers who run a judicial process, but it ended up with no results and some farmers gave up the judicial process for three reasons. first, authorities, prosecutor and judge requested some technical reports that were expensive.
They also requested a geo-referencing that was expensive as well. Some other people gave up because they couldn't pay for the reports, as well as they thought it would take many years and they would end-up losing the suit. And it would be worse, so many people gave up.
We are a group of 8 or 9 farmers who didn't give up. We are in the battlefield waiting for the judge's opinion. We must think of a model of development for our region, so that what remains for us is not just misery, and the ills.
because this process is also bringing pregnant women and men that leave them behind, is bringing specific diseases to the region, that need to be mapped and followed up, increase of violence, increase of cost of life. So, all of this are things that the State must keep alert about, and, before implementing such undertakings, propose solutions to problems that might happen.
